Bluetooth Speaker, 2020
The speaker cabinet is made from wood and charges via micro usb with a charging light in the back. The drippy bass ports, stand, and other lil interface doo-dads I 3D printed and coated with XTC-3D which makes them smooth.
Garden Flower, 2020
I created this garden flower by cutting and welding together a gardening tool, an old metal chair, and a saw blade.
Shovel Guitar, 2019
I built this guitar in grad school for a final project. I based the string layout on a 3 string cigar box guitar and adjusted it to fit the shovel (spade) I got from the hardware store. The guitar features a pick up I wound by hand, made from some super-thin copper wire, a chunky vegetable soup box, and a ceramic magnet for a hotter sound and an Altoids tin to contain it all. Whenever I was winding the pick up I almost pulled out all my hair the whole process took about 6 hours as the copper wire which is about as thin as hair kept ripping forcing me to cut off thousands of winds and start again. However, when I finally got it I jammed so hard in my studio that night and have been soooo satisfied with the results since. Now I just have to find an excuse to build another...
Laser Cut Cardboard Speaker Stands
I made these stands as a low cost alternative to the expensive foam speaker stands used to bring monitors up to ear height and reduce unwanted desk vibration from monitor speakers for audio production. The second picture shows a small test I did with a contact mic to measure the vibrations in the desk with and without the stands.
