Slime Sculptures

I have been attracted to the forms of drips since I began as an artist. I admire the potential

these shapes hold. They are frozen in tension between their birth and the assumption of their

final form. The still image of this potential energy when placed, leaking from the ceiling, above

the viewer creates a vague metaphor of the mysterious awe and potential that exists in life

when one simply looks up.

I create the forms of the slime in a 3D Clay Modeling Software then print them out using PLA

plastic. The slime sculpture is then coated in an epoxy spread, sanded, and painted. Each

slime has the ability to be hung via a single screw or by non-damaging adhesive strips. The

base of the slime has special cut outs to take either the screw or the adhesive strips for a

sturdy and flat attachment to the ceiling.
